Whitewater Rafting on the Dead River in Maine
The Dead River's spring runoff and heavy water releases make for the best wild whitewater adventure in New England. You'll cascade down 15 miles of almost continuous class II-V whitewater, in rapids like Spencer Rips, Hayden's Landing, Elephant Rock, the Mine Field and the infamous Poplar Falls, the longest continuous rapid in Maine. The ride is exhilarating. There are only a few release days available, and they quickly fill up, so make your reservations early.
The 2024 Big Water releases are scheduled:
Saturday, May 18th, 2024 – 6000 CFS
Sunday, May 26th, 2024 – 6000 CFS

A Maine State Access Fee and meals tax of $15.00 per person is in addition to the Dead River Trip rate.
Sport Boat - Whitewater Raft
A sport boat is a 13-foot long raft, the smallest the State of Maine allows on the Kennebec River. These rafts are very responsive especially on lower water flows, so you can surf and play in the smaller rapids. Magic Falls Rafting Co was the first company to offer this kind of trip.
Add $10.00 per person to price of regular trip.
