Learn to be a Whitewater Guide
Combine a vacation in the outdoors with a learning experience. Magic Falls will teach you everything you need to know to become a whitewater guide.
The learning vacation includes five nights lodging at the Dead River Lodge, three meals daily, and a dozen runs on the Kennebec River. You'll learn about river hydrology, rigging the boats, river safety and swift water rescue, paddling commands and steering-just about everything you would need to become a licensed Maine whitewater guide. Magic Falls will provide your pfd, wet suit, helmet and paddle. You provide a bathing suit and warm poly-fleece clothing and sturdy footwear.
The 5 day program is offered Sunday through Thursday nights with instruction Monday through Friday, June July and August. A minimum of six people is required. Minimum age is 18. The price is $800 per person including Maine state taxes.
